In 1965, after college, Mike founded a retail electronics company,
which he successfully grew and ultimately sold 6 years later to the parent company
of fast food giant Steak ‘n Shake. Mike took an executive position at Steak ‘n Shake
and spent the next decade in charge of marketing and development.
By the end of the 1970s, Mike left to create Lucerne Realty, which managed store
development for large retail and restaurant companies, as well as managed and
developed commercial real estate, in the United States and Europe. By the early-1980s he was involved in the
acquisition of 9 craft stores which became Michaels Stores Inc., where he
developed and managed the original 500-store rollout program.
And by the mid-1980s, he co-founded MJ Designs, Inc., was their President and
in the 1990s helped grow it to 60 superstores and over $280 million in sales.
In 2000, he founded Lucernex Technologies, with a simple vision: create a practical
software platform that could simplify the real estate and construction process,
improve the odds of new store success, shorten the time frame and generally make
store development easier and more successful.
Today the product, LucernexERP, is fueling the real estate and construction
efforts at several major retailers, as well as within the commercial real estate
and hotel sectors. |
