Michael D. Hammerslag, MBA, MS, PhD(ABD), MCR, CPM®

Mike Hammerslag joined the real estate industry in 1988, when he joined The Rockefeller Group, Inc., and has never left the industry. Mr. Hammerslag’s career, now stretching nearly a quarter century, has allowed him to be involved in nearly every aspect of real estate – from research, strategy, and leasing to management and ownership. Overall, he brings an unparalleled view of strategic real estate management and techniques to our firm and our clients.

Mr. Hammerslag brings a career full of analytical experience having led the lease and property financial analysis efforts of several real estate brokerages and owners in New York City. This experience combined with his prior real estate software development experience, done in conjunction with Ken Brown, Lucernex’s EVP and CIO, make Mike ideal to lead the continued development and product management of Lx products; notably Lx LseMod and Lx Contracts.

Furthermore, Mike has also been drawn to the classroom where he taught real estate and finance to aspiring leaders at both the graduate and undergraduate level. He has shared both his practical and academic experiences while a teaching assistant at the University of Connecticut and later as a full-time faculty member at Cornell University, the State University of New York at Oneonta, and New York University; his full-time university teaching career spans nearly ten (10) years.

Mr. Hammerslag holds an undergraduate degree from Heidelberg College (Computer Science, Mathematics, and Business Administration), master degrees from Long Island University (Finance) and New York University (Real Estate), and was a Doctoral Candidate (PhD in Finance) at the University of Connecticut.

Lastly, he is active in the industry holding the Certified Property Manager® and MCR designations, is a licensed New York State real estate salesperson, and serves as the Vice President of Education and a Member of the Executive Committee of Chapter 26 (New York City) of the Institute of Real Estate Management.
