Lucernex History

Lucernex was founded in 2000 by Mike Nuzum and Joe Valeri to address the needs of retail companies with diverse real estate portfolios by developing powerful tools for store lifecycle management and retail IWMS. The result is Lx Retail, an easy-to-use, complete solution with a low total cost of ownership (TCO) built on cutting edge technology.

Our first store lifecycle management solution was introduced in the U.S. in late 2002, then called Rollout Manager and was rapidly integrated into the business operations of several Fortune 500 retailers including Chipotle, YUM! Brands and Circuit City. Lx Retail (called Rollout Manager at the time) was the first Store Lifecycle Management (SLM) solution on the market and was a 100% Software as a Service (SaaS) solution before the acronym SaaS had even been coined. This began Lucernex history of visionary leadership in the retail real estate solutions market.

In 2005, Lucernex sold a license to Accruent (expired in 2008) for the v3.71 version of the Lx Retail code to Accruent, providing Accruent temporary exclusive sales rights to market the solution. Accruent released the Lucernex solution as Accruent SLM which they sold to over 50 retailers between 2005 and 2008.

In 2009, Lucernex again began selling direct to end users to build a stronger, more direct relationship with our clients and to provide the high level of customer support we are known for.

2009 was a year of change and development, during which Lucernex developed the first of its kind Cloud solution for store lifecycle management / Retail IWMS (Lx Retail) and Lease Administration (Lx Contracts).

Lucernex also purchased Lease Cost Solutions, Inc., the developers of LseMod software in 2009. This fourteen-year-old company, founded by a Fortune 500 corporate real estate manager created LseMod, the leading lease analysis and site selection tool.

2009 also saw the arrival of Ken Brown, the designer of SLIM and former CEO of National Facilities Group, ushering in a dramatic improvement in the web-based lease administration module of Lx Retail.

In 2011 and again in 2012 Lucernex received ISO 9001:2008 certification of our customer service operations and successfully completed an SSAE 16 Type 2 audit ensuring our technology operational practices ensure safety and security of our customers data.

Lucernex has continued its visionary leadership in 2012 with the release of the first fully functional mobile store lifecycle management and retail IWMS solution, Lx Retail Mobile and in 2013 with the release of fully integrated Location Analytics.

These improvements to our product offerings have positioned Lucernex as a dominant player in all phases of retail real estate software, allowing each staff member within any organization to become more efficient in their daily work, saving time and money for our clients every day while radically improving the way they manage their real estate.
